Petra Power Is Converting Natural Gas Directly Into Electricity

Petra Power is converting natural gas and diesel directly into electricity, delivering on-site power for the hyperscaler energy bottleneck. With $9 million in DoD funding, the team expects to enter the commercial market within 18 to 24 months.
The technology uses an electrochemical process that extracts electrons directly from fuel without combustion, enabling high efficiency and low/zero emissions. Founder Aaron Goodman notes that energy demand in the US is rising at a rate we have never seen before.
The company plans to quadruple its size over 15-30 months, building systems from 50 kilowatts to megawatt capacity.
